I typically spend two to three nights to get a comic strip done. Coming up with a gag is the most difficult; once I have it conceptualized, my lazy subconscious mind will try to take control and persuade me to take the simplest way to draw the strip. But getting a nice-looking strip done is very addictive, despite a little more hard work.

For this strip, I was able to finish it in two days and submitted it to my editor for a “grammar check at aisle 3.” This time I had made no grammar mistakes, but he told me “Dude, your mushrooms look like humans.” He was right, I drew them standing too tall and they all wear human clothes. So I painfully redrew the strip to make them semi-naked and short and stubby. I am glad that my editor has just saved my ass from straying into the unwanted realm of human-kind.
