The new character is supposed to be a rhubarb. Last time I bought some to make a pie, the supermarket cashier asked me what it was. I guess rhubarb is quite an unpopular vegetable because it is mostly used for pie filling. I looked up rhubarb in wikipedia and I was surprised to know that it originally came from China. I have never seen such vegetable in Hong Kong, in which the city I grew up. By the way, rhubarb in Chinese is 大黄。
