This strip was devised about half a year ago when I was sitting next to my coworker Ryan. We all used Power Macs for our work computer but all of them were hooked up to a central server. Sometimes the company network would get so congested that opening and saving files became extremely slow. Occasionally our computers crashed because of the network problem – and the precursor was the non-stop spinning cursor that we all called the “Beach Ball of Death” or “Marble of Doom”. One day we were all staring at the spinning beach ball and suddenly Ryan suggested making a comic about the Beach Ball of Death jumping out of the monitor killing/torturing the user. He even drew the evil beach ball on a piece of paper for me. His beach ball of death was really evil looking but I had to kick it up a notch to make it more evil looking. (You know I am joking, right?)

I told him I would save the comic for halloween because the concept didn’t seem to blend well with Chloroville. Now halloween is here and poor Jon-Jon is having one big nightmare.
P.S. I am actually a fan of Apple’s products and I am sure they wouldn’t mind I play some fun with them.

O_o
Poor jon-jon, hope he’s alright >_<
Happy Halloween Victor! I hope you’ll pass that message to all the citizens of Chloroville. I’m an apple fan too, I think it’s funny that most people in the town seem to use them. Makes sense to me…so is the beach ball candy? xD
This is probobly the longest comic so far, but theres little dialoge. Still good though. when I first read it, I diden’t get the joke until I read the text below.
Happy Halloween!
(Ps. did anyone notice the picture of Oli?)
I obviously don’t know anything about graphics but boy, this strip is so stunning visually. It is just so beautifully made.
In fact the notion of those fruity computers can crash should be scary enough to all its fans who know full well that Vista doesn’t crash when its cifs mounts don’t respond, he he
Hey Markng,net,
I should have said the app crashes, not the computer OS.
Hi Joe,
I agree for this strip only a few people will get the joke. But it’s Halloween, the Simpsons can get away with one special episode annually that doesn’t need to make any sense.
That was fun trick-or-treating! This comic is beautiful, scary ect. Keep up the good work!
I’m not familiar with the beach ball on the Macs so I’m glad you explained it. Great artwork as usual!
You know, Jon-Jon’s just cuter than ever when he cries… (I’m mean, I know)
I love the use of color in the Beach Ball of Doom… *snickers* whadda name…
I love the little picture of Oli…aw!
